St Petersburg officials have dropped charges against the pop star for violating the city’s homophobic censorship ban during an August tour performance. And the Madonna effect has apparently been wide-reaching — lawmakers in Moscow have also vetoed a proposed anti-gay bill in their city. Johnny Weir, for one, should certainly be pleased.
