!! OMG, Swifty been bad: John Mayer responds to Taylor Swift’s ‘Dear John’ !!

It made me feel terrible, because I didn’t deserve it. I’m pretty good at taking accountability now, and I never did anything to deserve that. It was a really lousy thing for her to do… I was really caught off-guard, and it really humiliated me at a time when I’d already been dressed down. I mean, how would you feel if, at the lowest you’ve ever been, someone kicked you even lower?”

John Mayer talking to Rolling Stone about the song Taylor Swift wrote about their falling out for her 2010 album Speak Now
Is John overreacting? Listen to “Dear John” after the jump and decide.

  1. I’m sure he’s not without flaws, but as for Taylor Swift: We can’t know what really happened between them, but anyone with a career as young as hers who already has sung enough breakup songs to have her own Top Ten of them comes off as taking breakups a bit too seriously. Airing that publicly in a song when people will know who it is about seems mean and classless, so I don’t think he is overreacting.
