Competitor #1: Janet Jackson and the video for her new single “Feedback.” I think Janet has an advantage because she’s been at it a long time, plus her song is sort of about female ejaculation and there are large rockets of creamy goo shooting up everywhere at the end of the video.

Competitor #2: Alison Goldfrapp and the video for her new single “A&E”. I love anything fantasy, and those walking/dancing leaf men along with Goldfrapp dressed as Botticelli’s “Birth of Venus” touch that particular nerve. The song is nice too, a bit of a departure from her previous work, which was better suited to coke-filled nights on the town than to a quiet walk in the forest.
Since Goldfrapp’s record label has so thoroughly bungled the “viral marketing” of her new video, the winner by default is Janet!
In the meantime, if by chance Goldfrapp’s video makes its way onto RuTube (Russian video upload site that is usually safe from pesky copyright lawyers), please let me know and I will post it!
