Will we ever see a world where Rosie takes the studio stage to reboot her beloved 90s daytime TV show!? Her “big crush” on Tommy Gurl Cruise?? Ro’ spoke to Entertainment Tonight about her podcast, and OâDonnell, who just turned 61, once again implied that bringing back the show is probably…
just never gonna happen:
âI feel like for me, it was really of a time,â she told People. âThe time to start a new show for TV now, with the social delivery platforms that they have, is not a 60-year-old woman. You have to be younger and have the fight in you and be on the cutting edge.â
âI feel like 0 to 30, youâre just figuring out whatâs going on,â she says. âThen, 30 to 60, youâre having kids, youâre getting married, youâre getting divorced, youâre figuring out your life. And then 60 on, you have to decide how much quality time is left and what do I wanna do with it.â
âWhat do I wanna do? How is there something that can make it easy to do, [something] creative, but will still keep me home?â
Ohhh. Won’t you reconsider, Ro!? With the evils of Ellen off the air and banished for good, we really need another lez to take the daytime reigns. The girls just do it better!
I loved the original Rosie show, but she damaged her brand when she went heavily into the activism and general bitterness after it went off the air. She lost a lot of fans as a result. Possible to come back from that, but not probable.
Canât tell if this is sarcasm or not but Ellenâs punishment did not seem to fit her crime remotely. Reminds me of how even SNL portrayed Rosie as some evil Jekyll and Hyde type personality for being a politically opinionated lesbian. Do I think Ellen has room for improvement? Yes. But âthe âbe kindâ lady wasnât always kind and her employees sometimes did problematic things.â Is that the point of no return? Uh, if thatâs the case, we need to find a better solution than collective shunning because soon there are going to be more people out than in.
