One band that we at omgblog.com are keeping our gorgeous gay eyes transfixed on is Deep Red, a new project formed by Hercules & Love Affair’s hard-working vocalist Nomi Ruiz, bassist Andrew Raposo and keyboardist Morgan Wiley. The trio joined forces while on tour with Hercules last year and are currently in the studio recording an album that promises to unite their collective pop, dance and R&B influences. They are performing in New York at Le Poisson Rouge (158 Bleecker St.) next Thursday, January 22. DFA’s Pat Mahoney will also be DJing, and disco band Midnight Magic is opening.
If you can’t make it to the show, have a listen to their slinky new track “Fun Girl” below. Nomi fans should also watch out for her Borough Gypsy EP, which is due out this year and will feature a duet with underground rapper Ill Bill.
