!! OMG, Betty Who says she ‘holds space’ for other queer women who end up dating men !!

Singer Betty Who went on the Made It Out podcast this week, and some of the stuff she said is receiving some heat. …But is it warranted?

In her interview, Betty, who is bisexual and married to a man says of Reneé Rapp, who is a lesbian:

“As much as it’s funny that Reneé Rapp is like, ‘You’ll never catch me dating a man.’ It’s like, ‘Go off, queen! I love that for you.’ But I also hold space for her in 10 years if she goes, ‘Oops, I met the love of my life and it’s this man, I didn’t mean to…”

Betty continued by saying,

“I’m a queer person who was like, ‘I’m probably gonna grow up to be gay.’ And then I became obsessed with a boy, and it’s the best thing that ever happened to me.”

and

“It doesn’t mean that I’m not queer or that I don’t represent or… love the queer community or exist in the queer community… a huge part of queerness is like, identifying yourself, and putting yourself under like… Alphabet Mafia, like ‘which one are you’ and ‘if you change that I will never forget it.’”

We def think Betty has a point, though her inclusion of referring to the LGBTQIA+ community as the ‘alphabet mafia’ does seem a bit confusing (a term which itself seeks to be inclusive of all outside of typical defintion – hence the ‘+’). But queer women do seem to flip between male/female/undefined relationshop more often then queer men do.

So maybe given what we’ve seen with stars like JoJo Siwa, Billie Eilish, and Fletcher, who are also dating men, Betty Who’s just stating that she wouldn’t be all that surprised and she supports people doing whatever scrambled the eggs between their legs? Find more of Betty’s interview below!

Some of us don’t date genitals, we date people. I have never found that what sex the person I have been attracted to has much to do with how I am attracted. It’s a head thing. A chemistry thing. Big time – a smell thing, how someone smells is amazing. I have been able to be involved with some amazing minds this way. The sex part is just the frosting. There are lots of flavors of cake, and frosting! Just my 2 cents.
