Rugrats, the classic Nickelodeon cartoon from the 90s, looks to be getting the a live-action CGI hybrid feature adaptation.
The Nickelodeon series premiered in 1991 and became one of the network’s most popular series. It followed a group of toddlers — Tommy, Chuckie, Phil and Lil — and their day-to-day lives, usually involving life experiences that become much greater adventures for the foursome.
Saturday Night Live star Mikey Day co-wrote the script along with Streeter Seidell and director Jason Moore is on board to direct. Moore’s feature directorial debut was Pitch Perfect which was a critical and commercial success – so hopefully the Rugrats will get the chance to properly turn it, live-action as well.
The world has changed SO much since this show first came out. All we wanna know is 1) Who’s in charge of hair on this, because that’s gonna be a big part of it, and 2) who is playing Didi Pickles!?
