BGISL is a song I wrote after my first fling went to shit and I was left alone with a bunch of menacing thoughts. Being 20 and fresh into the gay community, carrying all my previous negative experiences, left me in a position where I wasn’t even looking for a boyfriend or friend as much as some kind “rescuer”.
I was laying low during the winter and listening to a lot 70s soft rock which definitely ended up inspiring the song. The way that singers from that era would express their inner darkness in a way that was so sexy and elegant made me really want to do the same.
