Troye Sivan handed The New Yorker his syllabus for its Starter Pack series, and honestly, we’re taking notes.
Annie Ernaux’s A Simple Passion and Eve Babitz’s Slow Days, Fast Company belong in Troye’s tote. Movie night consists of films like The Favourite followed by Paris Is Burning, and his music tastes swing from Arthur Russell to Cornelius. Then there’s “Gay Guy Music Video Night,” which is exactly what it sounds like.
Zara Larsson starts the “Blue Moon” video as a regular girl in a motel parking lot at dusk. By the end she’s been a fairy, been a mermaid, and climbed up onto a billboard. Directed by Charlotte Rutherford, and Zara calls it the title track’s sister.
And one look at the fairy and it’s 2001 again, with Kylie popping out of an absinthe bottle as the Green Fairy in Baz Luhrmann’s Moulin Rouge! That was most definitly on the mood board.
Zara has asked fans to “spread the blue moon propaganda.” Watch the video below and consider it spread.

Miss Cotton interviews Kinga
Flowers is a short format online interview show hosted by Drag legend Miss Cotton where she interviews creative people she admires, highlighting their achievements and the positive change they bring to their communities.
Kinga is a Canadian dance music and nightlife legend who emerged in the late 1980s with the cult hit “Sexy Boy.” After decades away from the spotlight, they’re back in the studio, creating melodic, acid-infused high energy dance tracks. They share their one-of-a-kind come back story with Cotton.
Miley has found religion, and he drives a fast car. The video for “Different Religion,” her collab with Brooklyn rock band Model/Actriz, opens on a white car tearing down a desert highway with mountains in the rear view and Miley behind the wheel.
Director Mert Alas plays it like a Stronger-era Britney desert drive, all dusty highway and big hair, and Miley thrashing an electric guitar like it owes her money.
Check out the video above! Thoughts? The song is an actual bop!
Dolly Parton’s‘s partner Carl Dean famously stayed out of the spotlight, so a new set of photos of him goofing around with Dolly is a treat!
Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville has released a black and white photo booth strip of the couple from more than fifty years ago. Dolly’s niece Rebecca Seaver told Vogue it turned up in Carl’s old military trunk. In the frames the two of them are tugging at each other’s faces and cracking up.
Dolly met Carl at a laundromat in 1964, on her very first day in Nashville, and they stayed married for nearly 59 years. Carl died last year and Dolly followed this August, so it’s a lot to see them this young and this silly. The museum opened to the public on Tuesday, and these photos will be part of it.
