Yeah, I agree for the most part. I’ll give director Cuaron props for the gorgeous b&w cinematography and the impressive staging of several scenes, but it’s such a sloooooooooooow movie and, honestly, rather shallow and patronizing in how it treats the lead character. A very overrated film.
Lol are “History of Violence” and “Memento” a “ripoff” of Film Noir? The film takes place in the late 60’s and early 70’s and that was the style of films in Italy and Latin America so the director went back to that style. It’s not overrated but it’s definately not for everyone! You should probably stick to Girls Trip if that’s more your thing?
