Here’s what EW’s exclusive first look revealed about Mike Flanagan’s Carrie:
It’s an eight-episode limited series for Prime Video, targeting an October 2026 premiere. Summer Howell plays Carrie White, with Samantha Sloyan as Margaret, Siena Agudong as Sue Snell, Alison Thornton as Chris Hargensen, Amber Midthunder as Miss Desjardin, and Matthew Lillard as Principal Grayle.
The big swings: Flanagan told EW:
“the only way to approach it was to build something new out of the ingredients of Carrie.”
Carrie won’t be the only one with powers — each episode opens with a different woman, elsewhere in the world and in time, discovering her own telekinetic abilities. He’s also leaning into modern relevance, saying King’s themes of bullying, empathy, and school violence
“have become even more relevant today than he could have contemplated because of our relationship to technology.”
