OMG, is P!nk a Z!on!st? The question started trending this weekend after Pink shared a post calling on Ed Sheeran to apologize and refund fans over his opening act. On September 5 at MetLife Stadium, Macklemore walked out in a keffiyeh and told the crowd, “I want the people from Gaza to the occupied West Bank to know that we have not forgotten them.” He called out “Free Palestine, free Cuba, the Congo, Sudan and Iran,” described ICE as a terror organization, and performed “Hind’s Hall” over footage from Gaza.
The post Pink passed along said Sheeran owes his ticket holders money and an apology, and described Macklemore’s genocide accusation as false. Pink added nothing of her own, which is exactly why people are asking.

I seriously doubt Pink runs her social media pages. Most celebrities pay assistants or PR companies to control them. I have a feeling that’ll be the response from her team. And maybe a note of having let that particular person who re-posted removed from her team or the company. LOL.

Well James, you are totally correct that “genocide” has a specific meaning. That meaning is precisely what qualified investigators and genocide scholars are using in relation to Gaza. You are also 100% correct in saying that people should educate themselves a little more about the conflict rather than just jumping on whatever side they think will be the most popular with their friends or online. The Independent International Commission of Inquiry concluded that Israeli authorities had committed four of the Convention’s five genocidal acts against Palestinians in Gaza and had the required intent. This conclusion is also supported by Omer Bartov, Brown University’s Dean’s Professor of Holocaust and Genocide Studies, an Israeli-born historian whose award-winning work examines war crimes and genocide, Raz Segal, Stockton University’s Associate Professor of Holocaust and Genocide Studies and Endowed Professor in the Study of Modern Genocide, Amos Goldberg, a Hebrew University scholar specializing in the Holocaust and modern genocides, William Schabas, professor of international law, author of more than 20 books covering genocide and international criminal law, and counsel before the ICJ and ICC.
In addition to those experts, the International Association of Genocide Scholars passed a resolution declaring that Israel’s policies and actions in Gaza meet the definition of genocide. Amnesty International agree and so do B’Tselem and Physicians for Human Rights–Israel, an Israeli organization that independently concluded that the state is intentionally destroying Palestinian society and Gaza’s healthcare system.
The evidence is there – mass killing and injury, repeated destruction of homes, hospitals, water systems, agricultural land and other necessities of life,near-total displacement, restrictions on food, water, fuel and medicine and public statements by senior Israeli officials directing the offensive that appeared to call for or justify genocidal acts.
71,266 Palestinians killed and 171,222 injured in Gaza in comparison to 1,671 Israelis and foreign nationals killed on or since 7 October.
As for your assertion that “Palestine” saying they plan an eventual genocide against the Israelis, saying something is very different from the actual act of genocide, which is happening now, at the hands of the Israelis.
Statements by Hamas leaders expressing genocidal or antisemitic intent are abhorrent and must be condemned. What do we do about ACTUAL genocide?
Good for Macklemore for standing up for what’s right. It is not antisemitic to criticise the Israeli government for the crimes against humanity they are committing. Let’s stop conflating antisemitism which is of course, abhorrent with the criticism of a government.

You say people need to educate themselves a little more about the conflict but your own statement is clearly uneducated. The Palestinian Authority has never said they plan on eventual genocide of the Israelis, they have even recognized that Israel has the right to exist, it’s Hamas that has said they want to wipe out Israel.
