!! OMG, quote of the day: Natalie Portman responds to Rose McGowan telling her to ‘walk the walk’ !!

“I agree with Ms. McGowan that it is inaccurate to call me ‘brave’ for wearing a garment with women’s names on it. Brave is a term I more strongly associate with actions like those of the women who have been testifying against Harvey Weinstein the last few weeks, under incredible pressure.

It is true I’ve only made a few films with women. In my long career, I’ve only gotten the chance to work with female directors a few times – I’ve made shorts, commercials, music videos and features with Marya Cohen, Mira Nair, Rebecca Zlotowski, Anna Rose Holmer, Sofia Coppola, Shirin Neshat and myself. Unfortunately, the unmade films I have tried to make are a ghost history.

So I want to say, I have tried, and I will keep trying. While I have not yet been successful, I am hopeful that we are stepping into a new day.”

Natalie Portman responds to Rose McGowan saying it wasn’t “brave” of her to wear a dress with snubbed female directors’ names sewn on it to the Oscar red carpet.

  1. She’s kind of cuckoo anyway lately! I wouldn’t waste my breathe on her. She’s kind of like a Trumpster. No matter what you say, it’s going to be wrong. Her 15 mins of fame is going fast!

  2. Being an activist is great, being a zealot is not. Rosie MG is a zealot.

    • She kinda is, isn’t she?
I have been trying to root for her, because of everything that has happened to her. But she is just uncompromising and attacks everyone that doesn’t do what she sees as their best.

      • Ditto.
I also feel that, like everything else involving humans, no one person speaks for everyone else. Her voice should be heard, but she is not the sole spokesperson.
