The Canvas Project is a project created by Brazilian artist Gabriel Nardelli Araújo. The 28-year-old ‘frees’ well-known characters from classical paintings and puts them in the modern day context with the help of Photoshop. Check out a full gallery after the jump!

  2. The first two are the best at first I thought they were actual people done up in the period .

  3. I’m kinda stunned at how realistic some of the figures are. Not all of them, but the first two for sure. And the girl by the pond. Like… the photoshop is cool and all, but the real MVP are the artists who painted these. Crazy.
