I’ve always liked Jinkx Monsoon. I saw her perform once, and not only could she really sing — like REALLY sing — but she was funny, and had picked a genre and style of music that was pretty ballsy (no pun-intended) considering the crowd she was out there facing. (Let’s just say she wasn’t doing any circuit house tracks.)
It didn’t matter though, the crowd loved it, and she radiated with good vibes the whole time. Well, documentary filmmaker Basil Shadid sees that too, in Jinkx. He’s been documenting her every move, since long before her days on RuPaul’s Drag Race, since before winning ‘America’s Next Drag Superstar’.
Now, Jinkx and Basil are looking for help in crowd-funding the remainder of his documentary ‘Drag Becomes Him’, which is nearing completion! Check out the trailer after the jump, and click HERE to help out.
