The original instant photography company, Polaroid, IS DISCONTINUING ITS FILM. It may not seem like a big deal, but for many photographers and artists it sucks! You could do so many amazing things with Polaroid. It wasn’t just the magic of seeing it develop in front of you, it was being able to hold it and manipulate it. One of its most famous uses of Polaroid in the art world was created by David Hockney in his “photo-joiner” images (shown above).

Fuji still makes an instant film that can be used for polaroid transfers and emulsion transfer….
