!! OMG, Tai Land: Steven Tai F/W ’13/14 !!

Since seeing Steven Tai’s FW ’13 collection at Toronto Fashion Week this year, and hearing Tai speak at the Q&A afterwards about his experimental material production, it has stuck with me how exploratory yet homely-nerdy he seems, which is very much reflected in his collection.
His FW line includes in-house produced silicone material [complete with inset magnetic fasteners], sci-fi space invasion printed postcard sweaters and masses of glossy diagonal quilting, culminating in a sort of SKI-WEAR FOR NURSE JACKIE ON THE WHACKIE-BACKIE type thing.
So how happy was I to see that Bullett sat down for a chin-wag with the London-schooled designer to talk about the ‘Star Treck Into Darkness’ wardrobe, Tai’s favourite fantasy card game and his most favourite film ever ‘Scott Pilgrim vs. The World’…I mean is that not everyone’s favourite film ever…what do you mean “no”?!
You can read the full interview HERE, and see a portion of the collection including the collaged UFO illustrations of Franco Brambilla, and photographed by one of omgblog’s favourite snipper snappers Miguel Jacob.
