Let’s face it, wearing black lip gloss, a pair of Doc Martins and a lace choker with a pentagram pendant does NOT make you a motherf*cking witch…it doesn’t make you a druid, hell girl it barely even makes you a goth…so beware of these cutsie little witchypoos because they are false and should be DROWNED IN THE WELL for crimes against subculture symbol stealing.
One artist who does -however- understand symbols from druidism, witchcraft and interstellar life-form theorems is North Carolina Photographer Tommy Nease. In his series Pure Gothic he explores his love of levitation, circles, and negative space as he uses the photograph as a meditative tool for understand his subconscious mind.
“If I were to give it a title I would say that I am a transcendentalist: I enjoy observing and documenting the reflection of the spiritual realm in nature.”
