This is absurd! Hong Leong Bank in Hong Kong tore a page from the Paula Deen School Of Advertising for their latest ad which features an actor dressed in ‘black face’ and portraying a domestic worker!
This advert’s purpose is to sell domestic helper insurance, but unfortunately it seems to have become a minstrel show that would make D.W. Griffith proud. Chalk one up for racial harmony, Hong Leong.

In Hong Kong there’s a lot of Filipino housekeepers. So the commercial is doing the Stereotype owner and filipino housekeeper which is commonly have light brown skin, but definitely not black face.
I would not call that “blackface,” looks like her natural coloring (don’t know about the hair).
