We just can’t say goodbye to “Goodbye Horses,” the 1988 Q Lazzarus pop ballad that memorably soundtracked the most famous tuck scene in movie history. The long out-of-print single has been covered and remixed umpteen times over the past two decades and is now getting a proper reissue on 12-inch vinyl courtesy of Mon Amie Records.
The new edition will include “never before seen archival artifacts from Q Lazzarus” as well as ghostly cover version by pianist Jon Hopkins and Wildbeasts singer Hayden Thorpe on the b-side, which you can listen to below.
“Goodbye Horses” is due out on July 16. Pre-order the 12-inch here.
It would be nice to, I don’t know, actually acknowledge the gifted person who produced and wrote the original song, Mr. William Garvey, r.i.p.
