!! OMG, Ricky Martin’s nephew withdraws his harassment claim against the singer, UPDATED: Ricky releases video statement !!

Earlier in July, Ricky Martin’s nephew filed a restraining order and accused the singer of sexual abuse in Puerto Rico. Ricky vowed to fight the claims, with a representative calling them “completely false and fabricated.” In a statement released on Twitter by Martin’s lawyers today, they said:

“Just as we had anticipated, the temporary protection order was not extended by the Court.

“The accuser confirmed to the court that his decision to dismiss the matter was his alone, without any outside influence or pressure, and the accuser confirmed he was satisfied with his legal representation in the matter.”

It continued: “The request came from the accuser asking to dismiss the case. This was never anything more than a troubled individual making false allegations with absolutely nothing to substantiate them. We are glad that our client saw justice done and can now move forward with his life and his career.”

Ricky shared the statement and captioned the post: “Truth prevails”. Phew. That’s a terrible thing to accuse someone of and cry wolf about. We’re happy that Ricky was able to clear the air and his name in good time.

  1. Hello-

as stated false accusations can be quite damaging to a person’s career. Woody Allen’s
career has been derailed because of Mia and now Dylan Farrow’s allegations. but if I’m
not mistaken there is no corroborating evidence found by either the NYPD or the Ct. State
    Police to back then up.

  2. Your headline needs to be corrected-the supreme court did not vote on contraception-it was the House of Representatives.

  3. “the accuser confirmed he was satisfied with his legal representation in the matter.” sounds like ricky paid him off to end the issue.
i find it fishy on ricky’s part.

  4. While I’m not a fan I had faith that he would prevail.

    False accusations are incredibly damaging.

This is a perfect example of why need to move away from allegations being treated as true
