This seems like a no-brainer! We’ve been begging for this for year! DUH. Kraft Heinz teamed up with Toronto’s Solly’s Craft Soda on a limited-edition KD soda: cream soda with a hint of Kraft Dinner’s cheesy flavour. Kraft says it pairs great with a bowl of mac n’ cheese, or on its own, which is a brave thing to say about a cheese soda. It’s on Amazon now and hits participating Canadian retailers in early October, while quantities last. The brand says the idea came from fans doing their own “mac hacks,” like dumping in extra cheese powder. So yes, this one is on us.
KD has been busy this year. KD Mac & Cheesecake came out in May, KD Ramen in June, and last month Booster Juice served a KD smoothie at the CNE, blended with mango and pineapple juice. Solly’s founder Adin Wener (not the Bart Simpson prank-phonecall psuedonym) swears the soda is strange but somehow works. After Chopova Lowena put Hellmann’s on a handbag, we’ve stopped asking questions. Truly giving new meaning to the term ‘kraft soda’.
