So the Zuck is claiming that over 5 MILLION folks have already signed up to Threads, Instagram’s Twitter competitor. The new platform went live in the App Store on Wednesday, a day earlier than expected.
“Just passed 5 million sign ups in the first four hours,” the Meta CEO wrote on his Threads account.
Threads requires an Instagram account to log in and resembles Twitter visually, with some word changes – retweets are called “reposts” and tweets are called “threads.” It can reach 500 characters and along with text, posts can include videos up to 5 minutes long and photos, plus links.
Considering Twitter has become a total wankfest for Elon and other evil, a new platform (less evil, Zuck?) is a welcome option in these times. Have you jumped ship yet?
Twitter?
I don’t know her.
Need a 3rd option. Badly!
Prefer something where the CEO is sane and an actual adult.
And not so greedy…
There’s no way I want another FB owned app. Reminds me of google+ trying to take away entrenched users. Didn’t work.
