!! OMG, throwback: when Debbie Harry got spooky !!

In 1981, while Blondie was on a hiatus, Debbie Harry got a little spooky with her visuals!!!

The singer collaborated with artist H.R. Giger, known for designing sci-fi-horror movie Alien, along with his terrifying bio-mechanical paintings.

Together they created a controversial cover for her album KooKoo, which showed her face being acupunctured with large needles! Ouch?!

After the jump, check out this TV interview from 1981 where Debbie talks about their collaboration, plus the video for Backfired, directed by Giger. And don’t forget about the time we interviewed Debbie!
