!! OMG Stars: June 2022 Horoscopes !!

OMG Stars by Amelia EhrhardtThis month I feel compelled to write about something I noticed in the cycle of the zodiac signs:

The first four signs of the zodiacal year follow a cycle of action and rest. Aries: action; Taurus: rest; Gemini: action; Cancer: rest. Or more precisely: Aries: action; Taurus: rest; Gemini: research; Cancer: care. The cycle continues like this with increasing complexity throughout the zodiac (Leo: perform; Virgo: synthesize, etc).

We like to act as though the zodiacal year is a clear movement through all of these signs with the sun’s passage through them. “It’s Gemini season!” We say now, “Time to get out there and take it all in!” But the planets close to the sun complicate this—Mercury and Venus remain in Taurus for much of the month, while Mars is still behind in Aries. We have just as much planetary energy asking us to sit down as we do asking us to get out there.

It’s almost like astrology is a complicated mix of 7 planets, a moon, a sun, countless asteroids, 12 signs, 12 houses, one earth, and 7.7 billion people! 12 signs we each possess all of, all those celestial bodies working in tandem/chaos.

Reflecting on this, catsitting in another city, lying down on the couch with a sweet old kitty on my chest, I was thinking about the not-just-duality of rest and action. I thought about the complicated dance that is negotiating the two to create efficiency.

I recently performed in a dance work that required me to hold strenuous and muscular positions for quite long periods of time. Sometimes the answer in a challenging shape is to muscle through, but most of the time it’s about figuring out where I can allow for release in order to maintain tension where it is needed. Where can I find space between the two that makes efficiency possible?

The main astrological stories I’m interested in this month are conversations between planets in Taurus and Aquarius, and then Taurus and Capricorn. These are conversations that have to do absolutely with rest (Taurus) and action (Capricorn), but Aquarius’ presence in the mix is a bit more complicated. If I had to choose one of the two for the sign of the water bearer, it would be rest, but mostly the sign’s focus on knowledge, freedom, information, and individuality speak to me of the great spectrum between these extremes.

Astrological events this month:

June 1-2: Mercury retrograde in Taurus / June 3: Mercury stations direct / June 1 – 8: Mercury in Taurus square Saturn in Aquarius / June 9 – 13: Mercury in Taurus trine Pluto in Capricorn / June 11 – 13: Venus conjunct Uranus in Taurus / June 14: Full Moon in Sagittarius, Mercury ingress to Gemini / June 16 – 20: Venus in Taurus square Saturn in Aquarius / June 21 – 23: Venus in Taurus trine Pluto in Capricorn / June 22: Sun ingress to Cancer / June 24: Venus ingress to Gemini / June 28: New Moon in Cancer

This month I encourage you to consider the grey area between action and rest. Much has been made in the past few years about the deep importance of rest, stopping, pausing: this is all still true. But many people feel pressed by the moment we are in to return to an activity level that was before *all of this*. If you are struggling to get back to it, please consider the wide spectrum that is activity.

If you are struggling to find the pause that you need, please consider the wide spectrum that is rest. Please consider all the numbers between 0 and 60.

Horoscopes are written using whole house calculations and are meant as inspiration and affirmation of what you already know about yourself. Specific calculations are made for the rising signs, but if you don’t know your rising sign you can read for your sun. You can also read horoscopes  for your moon sign for extra emotional information. June 2022 Aries HoroscopesAries rising

Heading into June, we are moving past a whole month of lots of activity in your sign, and while we still have Mars in your sign this month, we no longer have a collection of planets all moving into Aries, which was sort of like a room full of people turning their heads to look at your at the same time.

Aries, I know it can be tough to give up the spotlight (no matter what style of Aries you are)! But the complexities of June create space for you to think about what you learn by having eyes in your direction. What feels important to act on? To implement?

Consider these questions as we move into the summer months and towards astrology further from your corner of the zodiac.

June 2022 Taurus Horoscope

Taurus rising

Taurus is one of the signs whose memification I find the most irritating (while also admitting to participating in it). It’s just too easy to make fun of: the sign of naps and snacks! Of course there is much more to Taurus, and of course there are also many Taureans who like action and being on the go.

Your sign isn’t exactly about a wide variety of questions and issues, but rather the fixed human need for safety and resources. You as an individual, with all the whirling planets in your chart, may have natal placements that describe what happens when different factors are in the mix on our safety.

What if your identification with the resources you need to feel safe is at odds with change in your career? What if your pipe dreams about success could actually be tangible transformations that support those needs for safety?

June gives you a chance to ask these things of yourself, and play with the words like magnetic poetry to come up with meanings that serve you best.

June 2022 Gemini HoroscopeGemini rising

I hope that you of the twins take the hint in my intro about rest in Gemini season and implement it. May was an extremely busy month for your chart, and coming into June it stays critical for you to listen to that body of yours. The planets sticking around Taurus this month are all in your 12th house of dreams: a part of the chart useful for journaling, consideration, creative expression, esoteric practice, but not action and decision making. Coupled with the direct station of Mercury at the start of the month, we’re still collectively in a time of thinking and not doing

When Venus and Mercury trine Pluto in Capricorn, they’ll speak to the relationship between your dreams and your transformation. Pluto has been making a long transit through your 8th house – the planet of transformation in the house of transformation – and getting some connection to the personal planets could make clear how some of that transformation has been going for you. Saturn’s journey in your 9th house of expansion has perhaps stifled some of your hopes for growth, and Mercury and Taurus squaring them this month might underline that feeling.

Just know that when Saturn shows you a problem, it’s a diagnosis and not a catastrophe. Take the hint and implement changes as necessary.

June 2022 Cancer HoroscopeCancer rising

Something I just remembered about Cancer rising that really completes the picture: Cancer risings have Taurus on the 11th house. Taurus is the sign of comfort, physical stuff, naps, and snacks – the 11th house is the house of social activity, friends, and groups. Taurus on the 11th is a lot like Cancer on the rising sign—Cancer is about vulnerability and care, the rising sign is about meeting the public.

Being Cancer rising is about moving into the world always with the softest part of the self first. It hurts. Though there are certainly lots of Cancer risings who love to socialize, the transit of Mercury and Venus in your 11th are asking you to make sure that your social life is as restorative to you as possible.

Whether that’s being out and around friends or resting at home and trolling social media, take the opportunity as it comes.

June 2022 Leo HoroscopeLeo rising

A thing about being Leo rising: when it comes to your public image, you are extremely fixed. Leo on your rising sign describes that in your immediate social encounters, you like to have a very particular image. With Taurus on your 10th house of career and public profile, you are have the stereotypical Taurean determination. This can manifest as being very dedicated to your career path, or very dedicated to rest, but whatever it is you’re determined.

Venus and Mercury in your 10th house this month will trine Pluto in your 6th house of daily life, and square Saturn in your 7th house of relationships, pointing out the relationship between your personal life and your work life. Saturn in your 7th house has been an extended period of a potential sense of restriction in your one-on-one relationships, but remember that Saturn doesn’t cause problems: Saturn points out problems that already exist.

A diagnosis is better than not knowing, so use the chance to implement change as needed.

June 2022 Virgo HoroscopeVirgo rising

The activity in earth placements this month gives your sign a little bit of a boost, Virgo, as Mercury and Venus move through trines to your sign. Gemini season itself is something of an unforgiving time for Virgos – such different Mercury energy than yours! So I’m glad you get some earth tones to soothe the pallet.

This month’s astrology speaks to the relationship—and potential challenges—between your daily life and your dreams of growth. Is your job getting in the way of your learning? Does your busy schedule leave you with no time to learn, or to get away? Remember, Virgo, that productivity needs to be fed with curiosity to keep it fresh.

When Mercury stations direct at the beginning of this month your sign really gets a break after the difficult retrograde, so go back over all the plans you made in May to make sure they’re solid.

June 2022 Libra HoroscopeLibra rising

Your ruling planet Venus moves into Taurus, the sign that shares planetary rulership with you, so the familiar energy of being in a Venusian time is a lovely moment for Libras to take advantage of.

I’m so glad that’s happening for you and hope the Venusian energy can feed into all areas of your life. This month the houses highlighted in your chart are the 5th and the 8th—the houses of love and sex, creativity and transformation, dating and intimacy. Saturn’s station this past year in your 5th house has been an extended period of potentially experiencing some blockage in your creative and romantic life.

Whether this is writer’s block or a dry dating scene, remember that Saturn always comes to diagnose a problem, so try to look at the root cause of these issues instead of blaming Saturn for them—though I know that’s terribly easy.

June 2022 Scorpio HoroscopeScorpio rising

May and eclipse season brought a round of big activity in your sign, with a lunar eclipse in your sign and the internet drama eclipses typically are harbingers of. It takes several months to understand what the effects of an eclipse really were, so give yourself the time throughout the summer to notice what may have shifted. In June, Venus and Mercury continue their time in your 7th house of one-on-one relationships, forming squares to Saturn in your 4th house of home.

This is typical astrology for issues between your home/family life and your closest relationships: disagreements with a live-in partner about the home you keep together; issues in your family of origin affecting your current relationships; stuff at home preventing you from showing up for your work partners.  I’m saying this all over these horoscopes, but remember that Saturn is a diagnostician and not a trickster, so anything being brought up is an issue that needed to be addressed.

The unfolding eclipse awareness may very well help address these issues also.

June 2022 Sagittarius HoroscopeSagittarius rising

Sagittarius risings are often easily spotted by their characteristic earnestness and somewhat anarchic communication style – the Sagittarian expansiveness mixed with Aquarius on your 3rd house of communication means you tend to say what you’re thinking, sometimes before you realize you’ve thought it. Since the end of 2020, however, you’ve had Saturn in your 3rd house, creating a sense of restriction here.

I suspect the Mercury retrograde last month had you dying to say some stuff to your closest partners in life and work, but unable to find the words. This month Mercury and Venus in Taurus form a square to Saturn transiting your 3rd house, bringing attention to the relationship between your routines and your words.

Are you asking for stuff that goes against what you need? Are you effectively communicating what will be healthiest for you or are you saying what you think you should say?

Anytime Saturn is in the mix it calls forth all the ways we have absorbed “shoulds” in our life, so pay close attention to who or what taught you that you “should” be doing things one way.

June 2022 Capricorn HoroscopeCapricorn rising

Mercury and Venus moving through Taurus this month will form a brief trine to your Capricorn placements, offering a nice sense of ease to combat the post-retrograde confusion. Saturnian people such as yourself really don’t like mixed up schedules and miscommunications, so those retrograde periods are tough on you. Your own ruling planet Saturn stations retrograde this month, and I’m seeing lots of hullabaloo on the internet about it, but I will gently offer that Saturn is retrograde about 4.5 months out of every year, so it’s not really the crisis situation people are talking about.

Just give yourself a minute to reflect on your sense of responsibility, sense of accomplishment, sense of structure: who or what taught you these sides of yourself and how do you find freedom and respect within it? Mercury and Venus in your will also form squares to Saturn, currently in your second house, calling attention to the relationship between your joy and your finances. Bummer time!!

This could be calling you to be a bit more rigorous with your budgeting – OR, Capricorn, it could be asking you to loosen up and let yourself have a bit more fun…it all depends on what kind of Capricorn (human) you are.

June 2022 Aquarius HoroscopeAquarius rising

Did you know that in just seven months Saturn will finally leave your sign and get his restriction-wielding, diagnose-offering, hard-truth reality checking ass of your sign? Seven months, Aquarius! You got this. In the meantime he’s hanging out in your 1st house of identity and probably pointing out all kinds of things you were just fine not knowing. This month Mercury and Venus are in Taurus in your 4th house of home—a pleasurable and lovely place for them to be.

However, they’ll make a couple of squares to Saturn in your 1st, creating some tension between your home life and your identity. A fictitious story to illustrate this energy: a highly rebellious, innovative, and self-motivated person is living their life and enjoying their own path. But for the past couple years, some life restrictions have caused them to be stopped in their tracks. They feel like they can’t quite be themselves and don’t have the freedom they want.

They can’t figure out if it’s work, relationships, money—something just feels like it’s restricting them and they can’t be themselves. Suddenly this month, they get a letter from an old friend, or perhaps they see a movie, that reminds them of their early childhood. This sends them into their memory and makes them realize that the shit causing a sense of restriction is something from their early childhood. It’ll be work to get through but at least now they know.

Please do not think I am telling you that this exact scenario, will happen, Aquarius—I am using what we call a ~literary device~, an ~allegory~ for what you could be experiencing. Please locate yourself in this metaphor and use it as you see fit.

June 2022 Pisces HoroscopePisces rising

I always write your sign last, Pisces, which sometimes makes me feel I’ve shortchanged you by running out of energy and being desperate and probably past my deadline, but just now I realized that it means I’ve only just come to understand the astrology I’m writing about and only now am I getting to the good stuff. This is the best metaphor for Pisces I can think of: only after 12 signs in the Zodiac to we get to the space where we realize that we don’t know anything at all and thymus attain wisdom.

Next time someone cracks a joke at you using the memification of Pisces, tell them this fact. More immediately: This month, Pisces rising, Venus and Mercury in Taurus are moving through your 3rd house of communication, sweetening not only your words, but also your opportunities for short trips, nice walks around the neighborhood, and connections with your siblings (and chosen siblings). Those are nice opportunities, but they come while these two planets are make a square to Saturn in your 12th house, reminding you that practical matters and your dreams may disagree but are never far apart.

Make sure you words align with your needs this month, Aquarius, and take advantage of those nice little mental health walks.
