!! OMG, what a drag: The Knife’s ‘Pass This On’ video !!

Swedish pop duo The Knife‘s video for their song “Pass It On” is one of the best I’ve seen this year (even though it is three years old, as some readers were kind enough to point out). Swedish drag queen Rickard Engfors performs the song for a surly suburban crowd in some sort of community center, and director Johan Renck, who directed Madonna‘s “Hung Up” and “Nothing Really Matters” videos, as well as others for Kylie Minogue and Robbie Williams, created an interesting love/hate atmosphere with a generous dose of melancholy.

  1. OMG I thought that was Austin Scarlet from Project Runway season 1 in one of his dresses.

  2. The wooden paneled room and the owls… just the whole backdrop reminds me of twin peaks. And the swaying is sooo Audrey Horne.

  3. The single’s actually about 3 years old, but it’s still pretty great!

  4. Hey this vid is from 2003…..its genius though.
