!! OMG, quote of the day: Hugh Jackman’s wife, once again, dismisses ‘silly’ rumour that actor is gay !!

“I mean, hello guys – if he was gay, he could be gay!” she continued. “He didn’t have to hide in the closet anymore, and he’d be dating Brad Pitt, or whatever. Not that Brad’s gay, but you know what I’m saying!” She added: “It’s so silly, and then people perpetuate silly things and it’s boring.”

Deborra-Lee previously fought off rumours about Hugh’s sexuality in 2020 when she said: “I see these magazines, and they’re so mean-spirited. So I hope people don’t buy these magazines and realise it’s all made up. It’s just wrong. It’s like someone saying to Elton John he’s straight. I’m sure he’d be pissed. He’s not straight!”

Deborra-Lee Furness, wife to Hugh Jackman, while on the Not an Overnight Success podcast, 66, dismissed such rumors as “silly” and said that if The Greatest Showman star, 53, was gay, he would be gay.

  1. Unrelated – why does it seem like he has extreme dandruff on his shoulders in that photo?

  2. If he ‘is’ gay and came out, he wouldn’t be casted as Wolverine at all, at least back then, period.

  3. It came from their Christmas Card last year; “Best wishes for the Holiday Season. My husband is still not gay.”

  4. I give zero Fs where he sticks it. But it’s 100% a beard’s job to say that the face is straight.

    • I don’t think I’ve known a guy who was dogged this badly by gay rumors who was actually straight. It’s always the John Travoltas and, unfortunately, Kevin Spaceys of the world and the reason these rumors persist is because gay guys see them out in their spaces picking up guys. Really, really don’t believe anyone is so thirsty for Hugh Jackman in 2022 that they’d be using his role in a musical a couple decades ago as their sole evidence. He’s a handsome man but he’s not a man I see in movies or think of at all these days.

  5. People are still talking about that?

  6. I remember back in the 90’s when everyone was saying Matt Damon and Ben Affleck were gay, Ben had the best response: “I’d like to think that if I were gay I would be out. Rupert Everett-style.” It sort of shut it all down. He wasn’t offended. Didn’t try to scream “I’m not gay!” (see: Tom Cruise).

I think this is similar: if he was gay, he could certainly be gay, nothing is stopping him.

  7. Deborah is a lovely woman. What she and her husband do or dont do is their own business

  8. I have no opinion on if he is or not, but it does annoy me when famous people act like there’s no problem with famous people coming out.
If Hugh had been openly gay for the last 25 years he’d never have had the level of success he’s had. Let’s not pretend an openly gay man could’ve been cast as Wolverine 20 odd years ago, or even now.

    • 100%!! We all wish for a world where this won’t matter, it does still matter today. Not only would he not have that level of success or those roles, but I also tire of “already famous and financially secure” people lecturing others to come out. Hello Ellen and Kenworthy! Not to mention, they are white, which definitely DOES make a difference. (I’m a white educated mid-income male, by the way.)
