Tragic news: Variety is reporting that Rob Reiner and his wife Michele Singer are deceased and their deaths are being investigated as a stabbing homicide.
“Two people were found dead Sunday afternoon inside a Brentwood home owned by director and actor Rob Reiner, multiple law enforcement sources told NBCLA.
The LA Fire Department said a man and a woman were found deceased inside, approximately 78 and 68 years old.”
Rob was an Oscar-nominated director, writer and actor. His credits included This is Spinal Tap, Stand by Me, Misery, Wolf of Wall Street, Sleepless in Seattle, The Princess Bride, and The First Wives Club.
Singer was at one time a photographer who shot Donald Trump’s photo for the cover of “The Art of the Deal.” The couple have three children — Jake, Nick and Romy. He is the adoptive father of actress Tracy Reiner, the daughter of his first wife, the late actress and director Penny Marshall.
Rob was a strong, progressive voice and activist in causes which encompassed gay rights advocacy and a protracted battle with the tobacco lobby. RIP to Michele and Rob.
