!! OMG, WATCH: This TV anchorwoman handles two transphobes like a total boss !!

Anchorwoman Olayemi Olurin put two transphobic contributors talking in circles yesterday on The Hill TV, in their place. She did NOT let down, hinnie!

Commentators Robby Soave and Kim Iversen spent the entire segment emphatically wondering why they weren’t “allowed” to deadname Elliot Page in the public eye. Meanwhile, Olurin stuck to her guns and remained the sole voice on the panel to understand the concepts of basic respect and personhood.

So they have no problem moving from Anakin to Darth Vader, but for some reason Elliot Page really gets their goat!? Hmmm, I wonder why… Find the video after the jump.

  1. Wow, as if its just *so* hard to understand that someone has a new name that reflects their true identity (and that identifying them by their prior name/identity is hurtful and harmful to them.)

Its not a difficult concept to grasp, and their dithering is beyond ridiculous.

  2. There are phobias and there are disagreements. Disagreement doesn’t automatically equal phobia.

  3. I’m white and agree with her 100%….. let’s work on the casual white racism please. Also white trans people exist. Elliot himself is white. 🙂

  4. White people – smh – true snowflakes of the world.

  5. GOOD FOR HER!!
ABOUT TIME PEOPLE STARTED PUTTING THEM IN THEIR PLACE!
BUT…..MOST OF THEM ARE ANNOYING AS ++HELL++ ALWAYS TRYING TO “CORRECT AND SCHOOL” PEOPLE….
