Welcome to the first OMG Playlist of 2026! One of our favorite songs this month is from Kim Gordon, lead vocalist of underground icons Sonic Youth. “Not Today” has us totally entranced. We love the twisting, roaring, wailing guitars. The little plucky strings. The melancholy, falling notes at the end and throughout. This song has us feeling so sassy so cool!!
We’ve also been very into Sam Quealy’s new album Jawbreaker. It’s a lush techno-pop dreamscape, bold and addictive. Disco-tinged, cinematic, and a little chaotic in the best way, it feels euphoric, glamorous, and like the perfect escape!
We’ve been Coucou Chloe stans for a hot minute, and it’s always fun watching her sound mutate. Her new track “VENOM” is raw and stripped back with a lot more pressure than release. Smoky, uneasy, and a little hypnotic, it seeps in slowly and lingers long after it ends. We’re obsessed with this grungy vibe!
