  1. While all the songs have gay appeal, they are not gay anthems. You aren’t going to hear most of these songs playing from a pride float. https://www.timeout.com/newyork/music/ultimate-pride-playlist-50-best-gay-songs is a better playlist.

I’m sure no one will agree, but “SHOOP” by Salt-n-Pepa makes my loins tingle when a cute dude walks by while this song is playing… 😉

  3. One Donna Summer maybe? Hot Stuff, I Feel Love, No More tears, Enough is Enough?

  4. This is an anthem: “Read My Lips”

  5. “Smalltown Boy” – Jimmy Somerville
    No Erasure?
    No Pet Shop Boys

  6. Heather Small – Proud – should’ve been near the top of the list………. Y’all are missing out if you haven’t heard it…..

  7. Cringe.

  8. No ‘Big Spender’? No ‘Diamonds are a Girl’s Best Friend’ or even ‘Santa Baby’? Not so much as a ‘Sunday Cloths’ from ‘Dolly’. This isn’t a list; it’s bullet points for the chronically humble.

  9. I was born this way by Carl Bean. That’s an anthem!!

  10. Gaga is #2? But I will survive is #3? This list is just a rough draft.

  11. Turn Back Time: video yes, song no.

  12. No “We are Family”?

    • Exactly, that is the closing anthem for all the gay bars.

And the songs aren’t all anthems, they are simply queer artists.
