Keith Haring‘s tribal scribbles were some of the most iconic of the the 1980s, – art which was revelled by both graffiti community, pop stars, as well as museums worldwide. Haring died of AIDS-related complications in 1990 but his younger sister, Kay, has gone about telling her brother’s story in a new children’s book titled: Keith Haring: The Boy Who Just Kept Drawing.
“My book tells the story of how Keith kept drawing, no matter who questioned what he was doing or why,” she told The Huffington Post. “I hope the passion he had as an artist is apparent to the kids who read it. I also want to highlight his philanthropy and hope that it inspires children to give back in their own community.”
