I think nowadays Nico Tortorella identifies as “bisexual.” Which raises the interesting question of “is sexuality fluidity a thing, or is a term for people who are afraid/hesitant to identify as bisexual, knowing the consequences that may come with?” I’m not saying it’s the latter, but I’ve been wondering a lot lately how much of resistance to “queer,” “bisexual” or “gay” labels has to do with the lack of privilege, stereotypes and negative perceptions those labels entail. Just as someone who’s suffered the “straight” guy invading my personal space on one too many occasions. But this dude–articulate and pretty AF.
This seems like he’s trying to use a new label for something that already has a label in an effort to avoid labels.
