!! OMG, “much more ‘banging’ as they say”: Pet Shop Boys album interview !!


What you just watched is the video for ‘Axis’, track number one of the Pet Shop Boys’ 12th Album entitled ‘Electric’, due out in mid July.
Threatening that it may be the only personal press they do for the record, they spoke to Stereogum about the dance album’s more experimental structure, imagining Madonna doing the ‘Dress You Up’ dance to the record, and watching Annie Lennox do yoga and George Michael watch ‘Ab Fab’ at the Olympics last year.

“One of the things I love about the Electric is that there are bells — literally, bells — on almost every track. We hadn’t used sounds like that since the early ’80s. It reminds me of New York in 1981 or 1982 — the sound of it.” _Neil
