Ladies of Llangollen

Be still my beating heart for a bit of longform lesbian journalism!

Chase of the Wild Goose, recounting the improbable 50-year 18th century love affair of Lady Eleanor Butler and Miss Sarah Ponson, and originally published in 1936 by feminist and prison-reformer Mary Gordon, has been reissued by Lurid Editions, a UK publisher focused on “reprints that refuse to fit in.”

If social media attention spans prevent you from enjoying a good bit of LGBTQ+ historical non-fiction, there’s a perhaps less TL;DR review of the book on The Guardian.
